The Beach

This movie kinda has a special place in my mind ... mostly for the idea of getting away from society, technology and the familiar. Getting back in touch with nature. It is a bit of a campy movie at times but it definitely has its moments.

I tried to include a few things from the movie in the poster. Of course the 3 main characters are the main focus. The shot is of them when they first are getting ready to swim to the island. Of course within their silhouettes is an interpretation of the actual beach. I choose the starry night because of the scene in the movie discussing alternate realities and the possibilities the world holds. The shot glass is from the scene early in the movie when Dicaprio's character tries Snakes blood which you could say starts his road to stepping outside the norm but also foreshadows the spill of blood. I also choose to keep the water the same colour as the blood in the shot glass ... mostly to coin the term "Blood in the Water" pertaining to the actual blood that is spilled in the water from the shark attack and also the arrival of Richard's character in the village. The background actually has an overlay of the actual map that Daffy had given richard and if you look close you can see Daffys logo showing through the page.

Well now I feel like I have fully over analyzed this movie.
